A tea party game inspired by the world of writer and illustrator, Beatrix Potter.

You’re invited to a mushroom potluck tea party to have a civil discussion and decide who inherits Mr. McGregor's garden. Conveniently, you all know more about mushrooms than you should and maybe you don’t get along like it’s a children’s book. Take turns serving and drinking tea and see who walks away in one piece.

 

Setup

1. Shuffle ingredient cards and 12 court cards separately
2. Distribute court cards evenly among players (4 players - 3 cards each, 5 players - 2 cards each (remove Jokers), 6 players - 2 cards each)
3. Distribute ingredient cards evenly among players face down
4. The most well-dressed player chooses who will be the first server. The server will have a cup in front of them at all times. The cup moves clockwise after each turn.

Player turn

STEP 1: MIX AND MINGLE

Each player puts an ingredient card face down in the middle of the table.

STEP 2: SET THE TABLE

While the server is making tea, each player can choose to put a court card face down in front of them to be revealed at teatime.

STEP 3: TEA TIME

Tea is served! If there are as many or more deathcaps than safe ingredients, the tea is poisonous. Court cards are revealed, and effects are resolved clockwise from the server.

STEP 4: MOVE ON LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED

If you’re poisoned without protection, you are eliminated. The show goes on without you though. Last animal standing wins Mr. McGregors garden and a lifetime of solitude.
